Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

Happy Birthday - Heartfelt Creations

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a little Heartfelt Creations inspiration!  Today I have a birthday card to show you using the Sweet Lullaby Collection.

I used the Sweet Lullaby Papers for the frame, the “Sweet” ticket, and the image of the little girl and kitten.  The “Happy Birthday” sentiment was stamped directly on the designer paper.  Then I just added some of the die cut flowers and stems and a bow with an adhesive pearl.  Very easy card to  put together and I think it's perfect for a little girl's birthday.

Here's a little close up of the pretty flowers that I made with the Sweet Lullaby and Sweet Juliet Dies.

Be sure to visit the HC Blog to see all the beautiful creations by the designers this week along with a new video from Emma Lou!

Happy Anniversary - CottageCutz

Happy Thursday everyone!

Today I have an easel card I made for The Scrapping Cottage using the Swans Die from the CottageCutz Wedding Release, along with the Starburst Flower, Happy, Anniversary, Fancy Lace Border and Greenery Dies.

It's hard to show just one picture of an easel card, so I have a bunch for you!  Here's a view from the front.

Here are views from the side.

Here's the inside.

And finally, a close up of the front.

To make my card, I used cream card stock to create a 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" easel card.  (If you're not familiar with easel cards, there is a tutorial on Split Coast Stampers here that you can refer to as a guide.)  I added a black mat to part of the front that is embossed with a polka dot embossing folder and popped it on the base.  I cut the Fancy Lace Border Die twice, once with black and again with LeCreme Designer Paper and added them to the bottom of the mat.  The Swans Die was cut with the cream and added with pop dots. The 2 small flowers from the Starburst Flower Die with also cut with LeCreme DP and added the the Swan.  Two leaves were added to either side of the flowers cut from the Greenery Die using black card stock.

For the inside of the card, I cut the sentiments using black card stock and added them by running them through my Xyron Create-a-sticker Machine.  I then added a piece of black trim and one of the Greenery Dies cut using black card stock.

To finish my card, I added a bow made with Cream Seam Binding and a couple of black pearls.

These are the dies I used on my card.

Card Recipe:

Paper: Cream, LeCreme (DCWV), Black (Recollections)
Accessories: McGill Mat and Tool Kit, Bow-Easy, Cream Seam Binding (Really Reasonable Ribbon), adhesive pearl, Xyron Create-a-sticker Machine, trim (Jo-Anns).

Happy Wednesday!

Today I have a card for you using the Sweet Lullaby Collection.

I thought this would be pretty for a bridal shower or even for a baby shower.  I love lots of white with a touch of yellow!  I used all white card stock for this and color the flower and leaves with chalk inks.  Very simple card to put together!

Here's a little close up of the pretty umbrella!

Leave a comment on the blog by May 20th and you will be entered to win the entire collection valued at $150.00.

For my card this week, I used the Sweet Little One and Sweet Lullaby Sentiments Sets.

I just love this adorable image!  I colored it with pencils and mineral spirits to match these beautiful Sweet Lullaby designer papers.  I stamped the sentiment just below the image so that they would both fit in the “frame”.  The “frame” was created by using one of the card fronts in the paper collection and cutting out the center.  I love these card fronts, there's lots you can do with them!

The medallion was made with the Sweet Lullaby Sentiments on cream card stock and white embossing powder and inking the top piece with the “Sweet” sentiment on it.

Here's a close up of the image and medallion for you.

There's lot of gorgeous projects on the HC Blog this week!  Be sure to visit and leave a comment for a chance to win the collection!

Happy Monday!

Today I have a Father's Day card for you using CottageCutz Dies from The Scrapping Cottage.  I've used Happy, Father's Day, and Canadian Goose.

To create my card, I started with a black card base and added a Kraft mat that was embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and inked with Creamy Cocoa and Java Chalk Inks.  A smaller mat was made with Chance Designer Paper that was matted with Black.

The dies were cut with black, Natural White, Kraft, and Crushed Olive Distressed Papers and inked with Creamy Cocoa and Java Chalk Inks.  I added the sentiment pieces by running them through my Xyron Machine.  The other pieces were glued together and then added to the smaller mat using pop dots.  Then I just added a button with a twine bow.

These are the dies I used.

Card Recipe:

Vintage Floral Tag - Heartfelt Creations

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for some Heartfelt Creations inspiration!  Today I have a vintage floral tag to show you!

(Click on photo for a closer view.)

I really love how this came out!  I love the vintage look of the flowers and leaves with the Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel on the cream card stock.  Coloring with the chalk inks makes this so soft and pretty and much quicker than coloring with pencils.  I only used 2 colors on this also, Aegean Blue and Spanish Olive VersaMagic Inks and applied the color with make-up applicators.  Here's a little close-up for you.

Here's a different angle for you.  I love the beautiful lace on the bottom!

Be sure to visit the HC Blog to see the beautiful creations by the designers this week!  We have a new  member on our Design Team, Loretta Lock, who is returning to the DT.  Welcome Loretta!

Thinking of You - CottageCutz

Happy Friday!

Hope you are all having a wonderful day!  I'm so happy to finally have some nice weather here in NC.  I have my craft room windows open and I'm totally enjoying listening and watching the cardinals outside at the bird feeders!

Today I have a “Thinking of You” card using the Thinking of You Expressions, Strawberry Delight and Flower Vine CottageCutz Dies from The Scrapping Cottage.

(Sorry for the funky green bow...I'm having some issues right now with my photo editing!)

To make my card, I started with a white card base, added light blue gingham paper with a piece of red gingham ribbon over the bottom of it.  The Flower Vine, leaves and strawberry tops were cut with green designer paper. The sentiment, strawberries and flowers were cut with Real Red card stock.  The bowl for the strawberries was cut with flowered and blue designer papers and I cut the rim a second time with Real Red to go under the blue rim.  The designer papers are all from Nana's Kitchen by DCWV.

For the bowl of strawberries, I cut an extra single strawberry and popped the two singles behind the trio of strawberries.  The little flower in the top right corner is part of the Strawberry Delight Die that you can also place on the bowl.  I decorated the flowers a little with some liquid pearls and a white gel pen after shaping them.

I finished the card with a triple loop bow using Moss Seam Binding and added a red button threaded with blue twine making a bow in the back of it.

These are the dies I used:

Card Recipe:

Paper: White (Recollections), Real Red (SU), Nana's Kitchen (DCWV)
Accessories: Baby Blue Liquid Pearls, Diamond Stickles (Ranger), McGill Tool Kit and Mat, Xyron Create-a-sticker, Red Gingham 3/8", Moss Seam Binding Ribbons, Bow-Easy Tool (Really Reasonable Ribbon), twine, button, White Gel Pen.
